Because my mom asked:

Gingersnaps

3/4 cup butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup molasses

1 egg

2 1/4 cups sifted all purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground ginger

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

 

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

In a large bowl, combine the butter, brown sugar, molasses, and egg.

In a medium bowl, mix together the dry ingredients.

Add the dry ingredients to the wet and stir to combine.

Put 1/2 cup granulated sugar in a small bowl.

Roll dough into small balls, then  roll in granulated sugar.

Place on cookie sheet with parchment paper.

Bake for 10-12 minutes.
