10K practice

Saturday morning was beautiful. 54 degrees, slight southerly breeze, and plenty of sunshine. It couldn’t have been nicer for our first full 10K practice walk.

We walked. We talked.
10K = 6.2 miles and we finished in 1:35 minutes. Walking and talking. Not pushing, a little sweaty, but not much. Two more weekends to do it again before the big race day. Honestly, I felt like I could have walked another 30 minutes at least!

Things I learned:
1. Don’t drink a ton of water right before going on the walk.
2. Sip don’t slug back the water during the walk.
3. Set the pace at a manageable pace and then enjoy.
4. Layers are going to be important.
