There's an absolutely excellent book on setting up a garden and getting the most out of it, called "Backyard Self-sufficiency" by Jackie French. I strongly recommend it. Not ony does she go over how to get the most out of your space, but she also talks about how to build layers in your garden and mimic a forest, how to use fences, trellises etc., and even includes a whole stack of great recipes to use your produce once you've grown it.

It's available at Amazon and she also has a website. I find the book invaluable.

I don't recommend many books, but I do this one!

I've been working on my sketch for my yard today - I just have a little suburban yard so no orchard in my future. :) But I'll have to study what you've done - it could help with placement of the potatoes, pumpkins and such. Looks awesome!
